Labor of love
I found a wonderful text in the Advocate today. A text written by a pregnant FtM. His wife had a hysterectomy and therefore she could not become pregnant. Since he decided to keep his reproductive organs, he stopped taking his testosterone shots and decided to carry their child. On their way to pregnancy, Nancy and Thomas has been discriminated against, doctors have refused to treat them for religious reasons and referring to Thomas with male pronouns. They ended up getting pregnant with the help of a sperm donor and home insemination. Thomas is expected to give birth in June this year. Read the whole article here
Personally, the thought of becoming pregnant is something that scares me. Probably because anything that has to do with my reproductive organs disgusts me. BUT, I think that if I ever fall in love with a a non and/or preop transgirl, I might consider it. Sadly, I dont think I’ll be mature enough to carry a child or raise a child before Im like 30, and then I’ve probably had my hysterectomy as sterilization is a requirement for sex reassignment in Norway and Sweden.
